Cobble Hill 1000pcs The summons Puzzle Sarah Richter
Sarah Richter’s artwork is known for its moody, detailed fantasy elements, and this puzzle is no exception. Here is what you need to know:
Puzzle Profile: "The Summons"
Artist: Sarah Richter
Piece Count: 1000 pieces
Assembled Size: 26.625" x 19.25" (approx. 67.6 cm x 48.9 cm)
Theme: A dark laboratory featuring a mystic owl at an arched window, a sleeping cat, a curious mouse, and shelves of magic potions and books.
What Makes Cobble Hill Unique
If you haven't done a Cobble Hill puzzle before, the experience is quite different from Peter Pauper Press:
Random-Cut Pieces: Unlike standard grid puzzles where pieces are in neat rows, Cobble Hill uses "funky" shapes. One piece might be long and thin, while another is large and blocky. This makes it impossible to "strip" the puzzle (sorting by piece shape), but it also makes it harder to put a piece in the wrong spot.
Linen Finish: The surface has a textured, embossed linen finish that feels premium and significantly reduces glare from overhead lights.
Earth-Friendly: They use 100% recycled cardboard and vegetable-based inks.
Difficulty Assessment
I would rate this an 8.5/10. It is notably harder than the Wonderland puzzle because:
Muted Color Palette: The heavy use of deep blues, greys, and blacks in the night sky and the stone walls can be very challenging.
Fine Detail: Sarah Richter’s style involves a lot of "shading" and fine lines which can look very similar on individual pieces.
The Random Cut: For some, the odd shapes add a layer of complexity to the assembly process.
